According to the law of the People’s Republic of China on special equipment safety and the catalogue of special equipment issued by the State Administration of market supervision and administration (revised in 2023), the rated working pressure is ≥0. 1mpa and the product of pressure and volume is ≥ 2.5MPa · L fixed or mobile air compressor, regardless of the volume, are included in the scope of special equipment supervision.
Key criteria
- working pressure: rated exhaust pressure marked on the equipment nameplate ≥ 0.1 MPa (MPa);
- volume parameters: gas tank or volume of gas storage unit (L)× working pressure (MPa) ≥ 2.5;
- media type: Although compressed air is non-flammable and non-toxic, it is still subject to regulations due to its energy storage characteristics.
Special attention should be paid: if some micro laboratory compressors and portable air pump meet any of the above conditions, they must go through legal procedures such as use registration, regular inspection and operation personnel holding certificates. Non-compliant use may face rectification or administrative punishment.
