What is air compression pump air inlet pressure?
The air compression pump pressure of air inlet (air compression pump) refers to the pressure of the atmosphere or pre-pressurized gas borne by the suction end of the compressor. This parameter directly affects the suction efficiency, volume flow rate and operation stability of the equipment.
Typical air inlet pressure range
most standard industrial air compression pump are designed for atmospheric intake, that is, air inlet pressure range is usually0.08–0.105 MPa (Absolute pressure), equivalent to the atmospheric pressure near the altitude and sea level (about 100 kPa absolute pressure) up and down fluctuation within a narrow range.
- Low pressure type air compression pump: it can adapt to slightly lower pressure air intake (such as-5 kPaG), which is common in vacuum auxiliary air intake scenarios;
- highland type or supercharged pre-intake system: air inlet acceptable up to about 0.12 MPa (Absolute) pressure, special intake filter and voltage regulator must be provided;
- no significant overpressure (such as> 0.13 MPa absolute pressure) or long-term operation under strong fluctuating airflow, otherwise it will easily cause valve plate damage or motor overload.
Selection and maintenance suggestions
in practical application, the allowable intake pressure window of the specific model should be confirmed according to the manufacturer’s technical manual, and the pressure difference of the intake filter, the tightness of the pipeline and the influence of the change of environmental altitude should be checked regularly. Abnormal intake pressure is one of the common causes of failure. It is recommended to use pressure sensors for real-time monitoring.
