Different function positioning
compressed air cooler is mainly used to reduce the temperature of compressed air and cool the high temperature gas to close to the ambient temperature through heat exchange, so as to precipitate part of water vapor and provide pre-conditions for subsequent drying. It does not directly control the dew point, nor does it remove oil mist or particles.
The core function of dryer
the dryer focuses on deep dehumidification, reducing the dew point of compressed air to a specified level (for example- 20℃,-40℃, etc.) to ensure that downstream equipment is not corroded by moisture. Common types include freezing, adsorption and membrane dryers, which are applicable to different working conditions and precision requirements.
Collaboration rather than substitution
in a typical compressed air system, the cooler is often used as the pre-equipment of the dryer: first, the temperature is cooled and the water is analyzed, and then the humidity is finely controlled by the dryer. The combination of the two can improve efficiency, prolong desiccant life and reduce overall energy consumption.
- Cooler: Focus on cooling, primary water removal, energy saving pretreatment
- dryer: Focus on dew point control, deep drying, and guarantee the quality of air source
