What is input specific power?
Input specific power (unit: kW /(m³/min)) is the core index to measure the energy efficiency of the air compressor, which refers to the input power consumed by the air compressor to output 1 cubic meter of free air per minute under the specified working conditions. The lower the value, the higher the energy efficiency.

according to GB 19153-2023 “limited value of energy efficiency and energy efficiency grade of positive displacement air compressor” standard, if the rated exhaust volume is 20m³/min, the input specific power should be ≤ 6.5 kW /(m³/min) (the specific limit is slightly different according to the rated exhaust pressure, cooling method and model structure, which is common in 0. 7–0.8MPa, air-cooled fixed type screw machine).
Key factors affecting input specific power
- host efficiency and rotor profile design: Advanced tooth profile can reduce leakage and friction loss;
- motor energy efficiency grade: IE4 or IE5 efficient motor significantly improves system efficiency;
- cooling and control system: frequency conversion speed regulation and intelligent loading/unloading strategy reduce no-load energy consumption;
- pipeline and post-processing configuration: the voltage drop will indirectly raise the input power of the whole machine.
