What is an air compression system?
Air compression system is an energy conversion system that inhales, pressurizes and delivers ambient air to gas equipment. It is widely used in manufacturing, chemical industry, medical treatment and automation fields. Its core goal is to achieve efficient, reliable and energy-saving operation on the premise of meeting the requirements of pressure, flow and air quality.
Main components
- air compressor: core power unit, common types include screw type, piston type and centrifugal type;
- rear cooler: reduce the temperature of high temperature air after compression and separate some condensed water;
- gas tank: balance gas supply fluctuation, buffer pressure fluctuation, and improve system stability;
- drying and filtering device: remove moisture, oil mist and particulate matter to ensure the quality of terminal gas;
- pipe network and control valve: arrange pipelines reasonably to reduce pressure drop, and optimize the operation strategy through intelligent controller.
Key design principles
the design needs to comprehensively consider the gas load characteristics (continuous/intermittent), peak demand, pressure level and air quality level (ISO 8573-1), energy efficiency indicators (such as specific power kW /(m³/min)) and future scalability. The system should avoid over-design and reserve 10-15% capacity margin to cope with fluctuations and maintenance downtime.
